Hells Branch Hideaway is an A-frame cabin located at Apple Canyon Lake (ACL) in Apple River, IL. The drive and the location are absolutely beautiful. It has the feel of being in the north woods with the convenience of being close to home.
The cabin is surrounded by trees, nestled on a quiet dead end road set hilltop above the lake. There's a small path that runs down the wooded hillside that can be used to access the trail and creek at the north end. Every room boasts views of the great outdoors.
The cabin features 2 living areas and stonework that runs from the basement floor to the rooftop with 2 beautiful wood burning fireplaces. The kitchen is fully stocked including refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, crock pots, dinnerware, cookware and bakeware.
Spend those dreary days and late nights in the game room enjoying Ping Pong, Air Hockey, Foosball, Darts, Cards, Board Games or Puzzles. We also have a few fun outdoor games including Jenga, Yard Dice, Cornhole and Polish Horseshoes.
The cabin has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths plus loft.
AMENITIES AND RECREATION
Your stay at the cabin provides access to many private amenities including the lake, beach, pool, outdoor sports multiplex and multiple hiking and walking trails. There is a 13-mile trail that runs around the lake and on your route to the amenities is a beautiful waterfall. The outdoor sports complex has gear available for playing tennis, badminton, pickle ball, volleyball and basketball.
The Cove is a lakefront restaurant (with bar) at ACL. There is a 9-hole golf course with Pro Shop serving food and drinks. Both have nice outdoor patio seating and live music and activities throughout the year. The Marina is also available to purchase fishing licenses or supplies, snacks and beverages.
The location is also perfect for additional fun in the area. With so many attractions nearby, it's a wonderful area for shopping or antiquing, wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants, summer and winter activities or just general site seeing. See the Things to Do page for additional info.
